Sequencing Studies

Using PSS/E and PowerGEM TARA, WattC conducts scenario-based analysis to identify optimal construction and energization sequences. These studies are critical in minimizing system risks and ensuring reliability throughout the lifecycle of a multi-phase transmission upgrade.

Outage Sequence Planning

We develop detailed and chronologically organized outage plans that include breaker-level one- line diagrams and operational dependencies. These plans align with long-lead procurement timelines and serve as key references for field implementation.

Coordination with Operators and ISOs

WattC facilitates stakeholder engagement with Transmission Operators (TOs) and Independent System Operators (ISOs), preparing technical documentation, outage justifications, risk mitigation strategies, and submission packets for regulatory review and approval.

Short-Circuit Analysis

Using Aspen OneLiner, we perform detailed fault current studies to evaluate:

  • Fault contributions at critical buses
  • Breaker interrupting capabilities
  • The adequacy of protection system coordination

Our analysis ensures compliance with ISO/RTO criteria and informs system protection upgrades and equipment procurement decisions.

Transfer Limit Evaluation
